Szent Istvan University has started to research its own operation in terms of emissions also, to be sure, that the University's strategy can be a sample for other institutions to follow. The rector of the University, Dr. Laszlo Solti, has entered the agreement of ACUPCC (American Colleges and Universities Presidents' Climate Commitment) in 2007, to learn about best practices, 700 Universities are trying to carry out, 10 out of these, already gone carbon neutral. The "stakeholders" of a university are responsible for such amount of emissions, a smaller town is emitting, therefore the careful research based on common interest of these people o same campuses are essential to identify emissions reduction options. The Climate Council was initiated to be established by 8 prominent professors as head of Hungarian WWF, vice-chair of ISES, lead author of IPCC, who are all carrying out advisory services for the rector on every emissions related issue.
