The office is built in the most low carbon way possible The already existing Green Office programme, and its handbook on how to establish a green office was used, when designing the office, using different recycled and low carbon footprint products, insulatin walls and windows, instead of changing them, opening up small glass windows in the walls and the majority of course was to purchase energy star and other low energy consuming devices for daily use. The Office's programmes are low-carbon Beyond the establishment of the office, where we gained experience from other programmes, and built relationship with organisations on green building standards, we emphasise, that the Climate Office is giving a programme for institutions as the university to carry out necessary capacity building through both practicle and theoretical ways. The Programmes of the Climate Office are organised around 4 stakeholder groups: the students, the lecturers, the officers and the local community. that we plan to approach, mainly through trained individuals coming from the office, and spreading their knowledge locally, learning from these societies too, and set programmes in the future for them, based on their needs, and level of climate change threats and awareness too. Read more about our programmes below the "Programmes" menu Services of the Office Carbon Footprint measurement Pictures can be downloaded from here: The way we advice people is first filling out a short survey, answering multiple choice questions about actual topics in climate change, counting their scores, and then going through Excel based measurement of the individuals. At the end the power generating bike of the Office can be pedalled, or any of our innovative tech-tool and commitment can be read and made during biking, and lighting up a neon-lamp, saying "We do care". Carbon Survey and delegating speakers The Carbon Survey is always produced with the help of the SZIE Climate Council, and prepared special and tailor-made for every occasion. The Survey was a basis for many elementary schools to start talking about climate change, preparing their own surveys, or inviting guest speakers to schools to talk about serious issues. |
